Technology

The game-engine was written from scratch in C# .NET with the use of Managed DirectX, and works with a XML/ZIP library. We build the Galaxy-editor and data-tools in Flash and turned them into desktop application with Zinc. Most artwork is hand draw, re-outlined in Illustrator and colored in Photoshop. The planets & objects in the game are moddeled in 3D Studio Max, After Effects & Combustion. Additional editing and animation was done in Photoshop & Flash, and the animations exported by SWF-2-Video. All this is then blended together with our favorite text/PNG/XML editors and a dash of freeware utility tools.

Assignment

We designed & build this game in about two months, as a combined end-product for the HvA Minors GameDesign & Game Technology: 3 designers and 2 programmers. As extra promotion products we designed a CD-case, two A2 posters and a intro/promo-movie.
